Maria
House, M.D., FACS, FASCRS.
Dr. House is Board certified in both
General Surgery and Colon and Rectal Surgery. She began
her practice in Colorado Springs in 2001, after practicing
for 3 years in Waterloo, Iowa. Although proficient in all
aspects of Colon and rectal Surgery, Dr. House has
particular interests in diverticular disease, inflammatory
bowel disease, colorectal cancer, anorectal disorders, and
rectal prolapse.

| Dr. House was born and raised
in Louisville, Kentucky and graduated with honors from
Bellarmine College in Louisville, Kentucky, with a bachelors
degree in biology. She spent a year in the genetic research
laboratory at the University of Michigan before matriculating
at the Ohio State University College of Medicine. She completed
a six-year residency in General Surgery at the Eastern Virginia
Graduate School of Medicine in Norfolk, Virginia, and an
additional fellowship in Colon and Rectal Surgery at Baylor
University in Dallas, Texas. Dr. House is a Fellow of both the
American College of Surgeons and the American Society of Colon
and Rectal Surgeons. |
